Resume bullet examples

These lines are starting points, not copy-paste fiction. Swap in your tools, volumes, and employers. Inventing percentages you cannot explain will hurt you in interviews.

For the verb + result pattern, read action verbs. Then paste rewritten bullets into a template.

Fresher / campus

  • Completed a final-year project that logged sensor readings in Python and exported a weekly CSV.
  • Organized a 120-student fest registration list in Google Sheets and sent reminder emails the week of the event.
  • Tutored two first-year students in accounts for six weeks and tracked topics they missed.

Software intern

  • Fixed two UI bugs in the intern board’s React app and wrote the steps in the pull-request description.
  • Added a health-check endpoint in Node.js so the team could see if the staging API was up.
  • Wrote a README section for local setup with Node version and env vars.

Data / Excel

  • Built a pivot table of monthly vendor spend and flagged two duplicate invoice series.
  • Joined orders and customers in SQL to list delayed shipments for the operations standup.
  • Documented the refresh steps for a weekly dashboard so a teammate could run it.

Customer support / retail

  • Answered 30–40 chat tickets a day in Freshdesk and tagged repeats for a help article.
  • Processed weekend exchanges in the POS and bagged items for restock.
  • Trained two new hires on the opening checklist and refund sheet.

Teacher

  • Planned a six-week science unit for grade 8 (CBSE) with a lab practical and a short written check.
  • Held parent conferences twice a term and logged follow-ups in the school diary.
  • Adapted worksheets for two students who needed larger print and extra examples.

Nurse

  • Supported a medical ward shift with assigned patients, vitals, and charting in the EMR.
  • Educated families on discharge medicines using the ward’s printed sheet.
  • Followed infection-control steps for isolation rooms as trained by the unit.

Accountant / accounts intern

  • Prepared bank recs in Excel for two accounts under CA review.
  • Entered sales invoices in Tally for a weekly GSTR-1 data pull.
  • Filed supporting PDFs in a dated folder so audit samples were easy to find.
